Getting There

Krabi International Airport opened in 1999 and takes under 90 minutes from Bangkok. From the airport it is about 40 minutes to the beaches around Nong Thale and Ao Nang.

Krabi or Phuket

The same bay, opposite shores. Phuket has the airlift, the nightlife and most of the hotels; Krabi has the rock, the national parks and far fewer people on the sand.

When to Go

November to March is dry and clear, and it is also when rates peak. May to October brings rain in bursts rather than all day, and the same villas cost noticeably less.
